The North Carolina Zoo celebrates Halloween by providing elephants with their very own pumpkins. The elephants are allowed to squash, toss and ultimately feast on their pumpkin treats as part of the zoo's enrichment program. This "pumpkin pound" event provides elephants with new stimulus, while also proving to be a crowd pleaser. For the animals, zookeepers and visitors of North Carolina Zoo, Halloween is truly a "smashing" good time!
