Meet AZA's Elephants
Meet San Diego Zoo's Newest Addition
The newest elephant at the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park was born into the African elephant herd early on Valentine's Day morning. The baby elephant, a boy who has yet to be named, was born to an experienced mom, Ndulamitsi (nicknamed Ndula for short). The baby's dad is Mabhu and his big brother is Vus'Musi. He also has a half-sister named Khosi. All reside at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park and are doing well.
This baby elephant is the first elephant calf to be born in the main yard with the rest of the herd present. He is agile, full of energy, and loves exploring. The baby gets along well with the herd, and the other four young elephants are excited to have a new playmate!
